Today

Today was a pretty great day. A couple of friends from college came down from North Carolina and are staying at my apartment until the end of next week. It is so wonderful to reconnect with friends- I was thinking the other day about how it wasn't until after college was over that I realized which friends were true friends that I would have for the rest of my life. I am so grateful that I have a plethora of friends that I can count on to be there during good times and bad.

We went to the Orlando area today because we know someone who plays on an AAU basketball team. It is cool because there were college scouts there from Georgia, Florida State, Charleston Southern, Kentucky, VMI and many others. Even though our friend's team lost it was still a great day seeing the sights around Kentucky and Kissimmee.

Next week we have a really busy week: we plan to go parasailing, go to the Universal Studios theme park, go to the American Idol concert, and hopefully hit the beaches of Clearwater!

I was looking through the rest of my pictures and I found some more scenery pictures from my trip to Naples. It was absolutely gorgeous- I cannot describe how beautiful it was, but I hope some of the pictures can do it justice. . . we are planning to go to Clearwater Beach later this week so I may have more beach pictures (it's my favorite place :) )

Busy Day!

Today was a crazy day! When I drove back from my family's house in New Jersey, I took the remainder of my stuff which I couldn't fit in my car when I originally moved down (which was alot!). I spent the day setting up my full-size keyboard, putting together furniture, hanging things, and finding places for things. I have friends coming and staying at my apartment this weekend so the crunch is on to make it look presentable :) I was also really excited because I got a bed today! Mine broke a couple of months ago so I have been sleeping on the couch- it will be so nice to sleep in a bed again!

Tonight my friend got tickets to the media screening of the Ugly Truth with Katherine Heigl. It was fun to go and was so different than watching a regular movie!

Sorry that I have been absent from the blog. . . . my best friend who I have not seen in four years ended up going to Fort Myers with her family which is only a couple of hours from me, so I have spent the week with her. . .

We went to Naples Beach which is absolutely gorgeous! We also went on a dolphin cruise in which the dolphins were jumping in the wake of our boat. Later today I hope to post pictures on this blog later today!

Family

I have been vacationing with my family for the past three weeks and my mom wrote this poem in a card for me before I left. . . this was really important to me because we have a really small family: it is just my parents, me and my older brother.
